Klipsch Reveals New Details of the Reference Signature Series
The new series will be demonstrated during CEDIA ahead of its global launch this winter.
DENVER, CO (Sept. 2, 2026) — Klipsch, proudly celebrating 80 years of legendary American sound, showcased the all-new Reference Signature Series, a new loudspeaker range that brings true three-way, horn-loaded technology together with elevated materials and a distinctive new industrial design. First previewed at Klipsch’s 80th-anniversary “Backstage Access” presentation at CES 2026, the Reference Signature series will be available for invitation-only demonstrations during CEDIA Expo 2026, offering attendees a First Listen ahead of its global launch this winter.

The Klipsch Reference Signature series includes six models:
- Floorstanding loudspeakers: RS-8301F and RS-6301F
- Monitor loudspeakers: RS-8301M and RS-6301M
- Center-channel loudspeaker: RS-6301C
- Dolby Atmos® surround/height module loudspeaker: RS-6101SA
The floorstanding, monitor, and center-channel models feature dedicated high-frequency, midrange, and low-frequency drivers, allowing each driver to operate within the range it is engineered to reproduce. The new three-way design moves the crossover points outside the ear’s most sensitive band, so voices and instruments come from a driver purpose-built for them. As company founder Paul W. Klipsch famously said, “The midrange is where we live.”
Every model features the horn-loaded acoustic architecture Klipsch has refined for 80 years, with new engineering tuned for audiophile and enthusiast listening. At the heart of each horn is Klipsch’s exclusive titanium-diaphragm Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) tweeter, designed to minimize distortion and deliver detailed high-frequency performance.
The Reference Signature series features a new phase-aligned horn design that positions the midrange directly within the tweeter horn, so midrange and high frequencies radiate from the same acoustic center. The result is more coherent performance through the crossover region and consistent tonal balance across a wider listening area, whether seated or standing. Eight-inch models pair 8-inch low-frequency drivers with a 6.5-inch midrange, while 6-inch models pair 6.5-inch low-frequency drivers with a 5.25-inch midrange. Floorstanding models and the center channel feature dual low-frequency drivers, while the monitors and surround speakers use a single low-frequency driver.
Signature spun-copper Cerametallic™ cones complete the driver complement. Lightweight yet rigid, Cerametallic drivers are engineered for low-distortion, high-efficiency performance with a look that is unmistakably Klipsch.
The RS-6301C center channel features a vertical driver array designed to eliminate the horizontal lobing and comb filtering associated with conventional MTM layouts. This design helps keep dialogue clear and timbre consistent across the listening area, so the center matches the tonal character of the left and right towers.
The two-way RS-6101SA speaker offers three flexible placement options: Dolby Atmos® elevation, height, or rear surround. Placed atop Reference Signature floorstanding or monitor speakers, its angled, horn-loaded driver array fires upward, reflecting sound off the ceiling to create convincing overhead effects. When wall-mounted, it delivers surround performance with the same Reference Signature voicing as the front soundstage. A switchable crossover toggles between Atmos and Surround modes, fine-tuning performance for each application.
Reference Signature brings an elevated industrial design language with upgraded materials and details that distinguish the series within the Klipsch portfolio. A one-piece BMC front baffle provides a dense, rigid foundation designed to reduce unwanted cabinet resonance, while curved cabinet edges reduce diffraction to help create a wider soundstage and improve off-axis performance.
Ebony and Walnut finishes feature horizontal grain patterns that follow the cabinet’s curved, steam-bent-inspired form in one continuous line. A decorative leather top panel adds a tactile, furniture-grade finishing detail, while premium metal carpet spikes and rubber feet provide stability for a variety of flooring surfaces.
Select models also feature an enhanced input panel with adjustable tweeter levels of +1 dB, 0 dB, and -1 dB, letting listeners customize high-frequency output to their room or personal preference, along with dual binding posts for bi-wire and bi-amp configurations.
Manufacturer’s suggested retail pricing is targeting a range of $1,600 to $3,000 per pair. Select Reference Signature models will be available this winter.
